"Andy Throws a Party" mixed media painting.
Andy Warhol tribute painting which includes images pertaining to important things about him. The background of the "walls" are covered in silver leaf to depict the aluminum covered walls of his studio "The Factory". In the painting are many of Andy's friends, *Billy Boy*, who was Warhol's muse, Edie Sedgewick, his "romantic" partner, and Lou Reed, who was part of "The Velvet Underground".
Soup cans with spoons serve as the food for the party, while an imitation of his painting "After the Party" holds glasses, liquor, wine and ashtrays. The flowers in the vase on the far left are a depiction of his flower painting. On the back wall hang depictions of his Marilyn and cow paintings, as well as a "Velvet Underground" poster, a poster from his film "Chelsea Girls" and a small likeness of one of his first issues of "Interview" magazine.
36" x 48" gallery wrap canvas with painted 1 3/8" deep sides, so no need to frame. Mixed media includes acrylic paints, inks, silver leaf.
