Day 80- Finding Time

Finding Time

I keep thinking about what my friend Mary Beth told me, "What are you waiting for", which is why started this whole thing in the first place. I was looking at my Pinterest quote board and I have so many quotes about this and wonder why if I loved them enough to save them, why didn't I pay more attention to them? Too busy I guess.

I LOVE quotes. I love that people say things I think in such outstanding and profound ways. So today I am sharing some of my favorites about time and what you should be doing!
Very true, Buddha, very true! Again, "What am I waiting for?"
time will pass anyway
This always makes me think- HARD. Time is passing... and quickly. TAKE ACTION! What have you got to lose? If you think you are going to be "wasting your time", remember this quote- because it is passing anyway and what else would you be doing that is MORE important that trying to follow your dream?
you should go do them
Yes, you SHOULD!  NOW!!
starting over
I really love this. Because if you think you are in a place where you just really wish you could reboot, restart and have a totally new beginning, you really can, but you have to start from where you are. You can't undo the past, but you sure as hell can work on the future and make a new "ending" for yourself.
best days
This is my very favorite. Pirate Radio is one of the movies I LOVE, (if you haven't seen this you should!  The music is awesome and movie is fantastic!) In it Phillip Seymour Hoffman's character says, "These are the best days of our lives. We will probably not ever have better days". That part always makes me sad. Mostly because they are young and have their whole lives ahead of them and he actually thinks that his life will never be better than it is at that moment. (it's a pretty awesome life, so I get where he is coming from...but still.)
YOU are in charge. I am seeing this more clearly everyday. So...........
you are not a tree

No one is in charge of your life but YOU. If you think others are controlling YOUR life, then you are letting them. I understand if you have kids, a husband, obligations, and things you HAVE to do (been there, done that), but there is time, you can make time, to do the things YOU want to do.

When I was first divorced, I had a kid in the high school, one in junior high, and one in grammar school. Three different schools. Baseball, track, soccer, all three kids doing different things in different places. I worked at a travel agency from 8 am until 2 pm, then I started driving- for hours, picking up, dropping off, etc... I also had a catering business, so after getting everyone home, sometimes as late as 7 pm, I would start cooking. I was also selling my art. So after everyone went to bed, I painted, until the wee hours most nights, because it was the ONLY time I had. Yes, I was tired, no, I was not getting enough sleep, but I HAD to make time to do what I WANTED to do.

My kids tease me that all they ate during that time were Bagel Bites. I confess they probably did eat more of those than they should have, but I did cook for them- some. Amazingly this is the ONLY thing they remember, it has become a running joke, so if that is the WORST thing they think happened during that time, then I guess we are okay!

You have time. You may have to squeeze in what you want to do in tiny increments, here and there. You may have to stay up a little later at night, or get up earlier in the morning (I don't recommend existing on only a few hours of sleep- that is NOT good), but you can find the time. I do all the things I HAVE to do in the morning. If I have orders to get out, I do them first thing, answer emails, etc... then I have the rest of the day to do what I WANT. I schedule any appointments, like the dentist, etc.. for first thing in the morning now. It is AMAZING how awesome it feels to have the REST of the day to do what I want to do.

So what are YOU waiting for? The time is passing anyway :)
