Day 86- Words of Encouragement

words of encouragement

be an encourager
It has only been a week so far on this journey to sixty and already amazing things are happening. I have so many positive comments, emails, texts and phone calls. Encouraging words. High fives. You GO girl. Keep it up.
Yesterday, I had a message from a friend who had read my post. She told me she was having a hard time with her business, and she really needed to read what I had written about making your dreams a reality. I decided she needed a little more than that, so I called her. We talked, I think we came up with a really good idea for her business, sometimes two heads really are better than one. I encouraged her. I think she feels better, at least I hope she does.
I like to think I am an encourager. I do try to help others when I can, if I can. Sometimes all it takes is a different viewpoint to see what you can't see when you are smack dab in the middle of it. Give someone a little bit of your time, listen, see if you can help. It is so easy to say something nice, to give someone a boost, you never know when just a kind word can turn someone's day completely around.
And that is what so many have done for me over the past few days. People I haven't heard from in a LONG time. People I talk to all the time. My family. My mother has been a cheerleader straight out of the gate. The first one to sign up to get this everyday. Thanks Mama, as always, I can count on you!
My sister, Mary Clayton has texted me everyday to give me words of encouragement. Hearing from her this often is highly unusual, because she is a very busy gal. And yesterday it meant so much because she is at Blackberry Farms teaching people how to do what she does as a stylist. She is REALLY busy, yet she took the time to send me quick word of encouragement. Thanks MC, I really appreciate it, more than you know!
My daughter, Clayton texted me just to make sure that I wasn't talking about her being one of the people that "get a rash" when they come in my house. I had to laugh, because it really wasn't her I was thinking of, although now that she mentions it..... She told me "As long as it makes you happy, that's all that matters." And she is right, as usual, thank you, I will try to remember that!
My son, Gardner texted me this, "Can't wait to read about what you write tomorrow, your blog is very inspiring and you make me super proud all the time."  Wow! I am used to being the one that is proud of my kids, not the other way around. Now THAT feels pretty awesome! Thank you sweetie!
My friends that encourage me, push me, listen to me bitch, moan and cry, I can't thank you enough.  I was talking to my friend, Mary Beth when I came up with the idea for the 90 to 60 journey. I have an entire post about her coming up and how she has encouraged me, so I won't say anything except she said these words, "what are you waiting for"?  Well, after we hung up, I realized she was right and it was time. Past time.  I definitely didn't need to wait any longer. Thanks MB!
And THANK YOU to every single one of you that has contacted me, left a comment or message on the blog, Instagram, Facebook, emailed me, texted me, called me, it means the world to me. Not just that you are taking the time to read this, but that you take even more of your valuable time to let me know you like it, or that something I said means something to you, or could possibly be helpful to you. You are all special to me and I am grateful for each of you!
You never know what just a little positive word can do. Find someone today, someone you know that might need a little encouragement, call them, text them, email them, just let them know you are thinking about them. It will help them and it will make you feel good too. Win-Win!
xoxo,
Beth

Beth, I LOVE the way you write! It’s so you- sweet, funny, and I get an amazing visual with your details. Can’t wait for tomorrow! Also, I better be careful with my word choices with you—never know when you might show up in a blog! ; ) xoxo
